A man was killed after he was run over by a bus and a sports utility vehicle (SUV) while crossing the road at Barangay Palaka in Negros Occidental’s Valladolid town on Saturday afternoon, December 17.

Police identified the fatality as 34-year-old Andres Jordas, a resident of the town’s Barangay Poblacion.

Lead traffic investigator, Police Master Sergeant Renato Sopio said Jordas was hit by a Bacolod-bound bus driven by 35-year-old Argie Calinong, while crossing the road.

The force of the impact threw Jordas by a few meters and he was subsequently hit by an SUV driven by 54-year-old Danilo Tangalin.

Sopio said both drivers immediately surrendered to police after the incident./DGB, WDJ
