A motorcycle driver was killed while his backrider was wounded in a shooting incident at Barangay Mambaroto’s Sitio Camp Valdez in Negros Occidental’s Sipalay City on Wednesday afternoon, December 14.

Police identified the fatality as 40-year-old Jomel Espora, while the wounded was 23-year-old Rogie Fajardo, both residents of the city’s Barangay 5.

According to the police, the victims were heading towards Hinoba-an town when two men on a motorcycle opened fire at them.

Espora was dead on-the-spot after sustaining a gunshot wound to his head, while Fajardo was rushed to a hospital for treatment.

Police recovered four empty 9mm shells at the crime scene.

The motive behind the shooting has yet to be determined./DGB, WDJ
