The Social Security System (SSS) in Negros Occidental conducted another round of operations going after contribution evaders in the province’s La Castellana town last Monday, December 12.

In a statement released by SSS Visayas West 1 Division Head Lilani Benedian yesterday, the employers of three sugarcane plantations, a restaurant, a common carrier, and a fireworks distributor received written orders from the SSS Run After Contributions Evaders (RACE) Team for non-remittance of contributions and non-production of monthly collection list.

According to Benedian, employers may opt to avail of the agency’s contribution penalty condonation program which offers flexible installment terms.

All employers are mandated by the law to register their businesses and report for coverage all their employees, she said.

Based on data, they conducted a total of 12 RACE operations on Negros Island and in neighboring Siquijor.

As of November, 42 out of 75 employers have already complied with an initial contribution collection of P7.1 million./DGB, WDJ
