Murder charges were filed against the suspect in the killing of a Grade 11 student at Barangay Cabahug in Negros Occidental’s Cadiz City.
Police station chief, Lt. Colonel Gil John Despi said the suspect, identified as 48-year-old Allan Tinggo, a resident of Hacienda Cornel 2 in the said village, has been charged in the killing of 16-year-old April Bacato.
Despi said Tinggo had already admitted to committing the crime.
Investigators recovered the victim’s clothes and the knife believed to have been used in the killing.
The victim’s remains are also being examined.
Bacato went missing last December 9, shortly after being released from school.
Her body was later recovered in the river.
An initial autopsy confirms that she sustained 11 stab wounds all over her body./DGB, WDJ
