A businessman was killed in a shooting incident in Bacolod City on Wednesday night, December 7.

Police identified the fatality as 39-year-old Ivan Magbanua, a businessman and resident of the city’s Barangay Singcang-Airport, who was gunned down by riding-in-tandem suspects while driving his sedan-type vehicle.

Police Major Joery Puerto said Magbanua may have tried to elude the riding-in-tandem gunmen.

The victim sustained a gunshot wound to his head as his vehicle hit a parked tricycle.

Police recovered 10 empty .45 caliber shells at the crime scene.

Magbanua’s wife said that her husband had been receiving death threats for the past few months, police said.

Meanwhile, a woman was wounded in another shooting incident at around 8:00 p.m. in the city’s Purok Sigay.

The wounded was identified as “Sheena,” a resident of the city’s Barangay Sum-ag and temporarily residing in Barangay 2.

“Sheena” was brought to the hospital for treatment.

Police believe that the shooting was drug-related as the victim was involved in an illegal drug charge last year.
