The Negros Occidental provincial government has tapped the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to investigate and arrest several scammers pretending to be Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson.

Provincial administrator Atty. Rayfrando Diaz said they may refer the matter to the NBI’s Cyber Crime Division.

Aside from the three cases, Diaz said that a lawyer contacted them and verified if the governor really made a reservation at a resort in the province’s Talisay City.

Diaz said they immediately informed all of the establishments not to receive such bookings or orders, as the governor never personally engages in such matters.

“You have to verify with the offices, the governor’s staff, or here at the administrator’s office,” he said./DGB, WDJ
