The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) has now completed their security preparations for the upcoming holidays.
NOCPPO spokesperson, Police Lt. Judesses Catalogo said the deployments of personnel are part of Oplan Kapaskuhan of the Philippine National Police (PNP), which will begin on December 16, with the start of the Simbang Gabi.
Cops will set up police assistance desks beside churches in the province to oversee the security of worshippers.
At the same time, cops will also be deployed in the province’s ports and at the Bacolod-Silay Airport.
Places of convergence such as shopping malls and other business establishments will also be guarded to prevent any untoward incidents.
Catalogo also reminded the public not to hesitate to contact police if they find any suspicious packages.
He also advised them not to carry items which may attract the attention of thieves and robbers.
On the other hand, Catalogo also warned the public, especially business owners, over the circulation of fake money during the holiday season.
He said, so far, they have yet to monitor any fake money circulating in the province, as the PNP national headquarters had already issued a warning last week.
PNP spokesperson, Police Colonel Jean Fajardo, had already advised the public to transact with legitimate and authorized money changers./DGB, WDJ
