A man was arrested while his accomplice managed to escape after they allegedly stole a motorcycle in Negros Occidental’s Victorias City yesterday morning.

Police arrested John Carlo Laura, 19 years old, a resident of Hacienda Rophildan in the city’s Barangay 14, while Joemarie Esperida, Jr., also a resident of the said place, eluded police.

In a follow-up operation, police arrested Laura and recovered the motorcycle along the city’s Kalantio Street in Barangay 3.

Charges for violating Republic Act 6593 or the Anti-Carnapping Act of 1972 have already been filed against Laura, while the police are still hunting down Esperida./DGB, WDJ
