Rain or Shine Elasto Painters snapped their losing skid in the 2022 PBA Commissioner’s Cup with a 116-97 rout of Blackwater Bossing yesterday at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.
Reinforcement Ryan Pearson led the way with 22 points, 15 rebounds and five assists as the Painters snapped their two-game losing skid to improve to a 5-6 win-loss slate.
Rey Nambatac had his best game this conference with 21 markers, while Anton Asistio and Norbert Torres ended with 13 each as the Painters kept their playoff hopes alive for the win.
Clinging to a 24-20 lead after the first 12 minutes, the Painters created separation in the second period behind Pearson and Nambatac before settling for a 51-45 halftime lead.
The Painters continued their scoring outburst in the second half with Torres connecting from inside and outside, while Nambatac and Shaun Ildefonso also had their share of points for an 82-71 edge.
Rain or Shine pulled away further in the fourth period with triples from Jewel Ponferrada, Asistio and Nicholas Demusis as the lead reached their largest at 21 points.
Cameron Krutwig tallied 23 points, Jollo Go added career-high 18 markers, while Trevis Jackson, Rey Suerte and Mike Ayonayon had 13, 12 and 10 points, respectively, for the Bossing, 3-9.
