A farmer was killed after he was shot by a still unidentified individual at Barangay Celestino Villacin’s Sitio Tambobo in Negros Occidental’s Cadiz City on Saturday morning, November 19.

Police identified the fatality as 65-year-old Diosdado Fuentes, a resident of neighboring Sagay City’s Barangay Colonia.

Based on initial investigation by the police, Villacin was working in his fields when the gunman shot him.

A total of six gunshots were heard, according to the victim’s son.

Fuentes was rushed to Sagay City District Hospital but he was dead on arrival.

Authorities believe the shooting may have stemmed from a land dispute./DGB, WDJ
