Negros Occidental provincial administrator Atty. Rayfrando Diaz said employees of the provincial government should expect a lesser bonus this year.
This comes after the Commission on Audit (COA) disallowed the release of the Incentive Benefits for Exemplary Service (IBES) bonus for Capitol employees.
“Every year, the COA sends the provincial government a notice of disallowance based on its observation audit memorandum,” Diaz said.
However, he said that the Capitol will still release performance-based bonuses.
“We have a source of funds for the additional bonus of employees from unused funds and surplus,” he said.
Last year, 3,400 provincial government employees each received a total of P65,000 in bonuses.
Of the total, P25,000 is from the collective negotiation agreement bonus, another P25,000 is from IBES, P5,000 is from the performance-based incentive, and P10,000 is from the service recognition incentive./DGB, WDJ
