One person was confirmed dead, while six others were injured after five vehicles crashed into each other along the national highway in Barangay Calumangan in Negros Occidental’s Bago City on Monday morning, November 14.

Police identified the fatality as 52-year-old motorcycle driver Neptaly Subiate, a resident of Bacolod City’s Barangay 7.

Senior Master Sgt. Jeffrey Montinola, Bago City Police Station traffic investigator, said a truck driven by 24-year-old John Mark Sausi, accidentally collided into a government-owned truck driven by 42-year-old Eddie Boy Saylo.

It then resulted in colliding with Subiate’s motorcycle, a parked tricycle and a pick-up truck.

Subiate was immediately rushed to the Bago City Hospital for treatment, but he was declared dead-on-arrival by the attending physician.

Meanwhile, the six injured individuals were also rushed to the hospital for treatment.

Sausi and Saylo were detained at the police station./DGB, WDJ
