Negros Occidental Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer said he is in favor of placing the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) under the Office of the President.
According to Ferrer, having the NDRRMC under the control of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. would further expedite any decision making and its operations during times of calamities.
Ferrer is also confident that Marcos is capable of holding the NDRRMC, just as he is currently holding the Department of Agriculture.
The proposal to place the NDRRMC under the Office of the President surfaced during Marcos’ visit to Tacloban City to lead the ninth anniversary commemoration of the onslaught of Super Typhoon “Yolanda.”/DGB, WDJ
