The Silay City Police Station seized a total of P7.5 million worth of suspected shabu in a buy-bust operation at Mallery 2 Subdivision in the city’s Barangay Rizal, late Sunday night, August 28.
Police identified the arrested as 36-year-old Mark Villaran, a resident of Antonio Luna Street in the city’s Barangay 1.
According to the city police, Villaran was listed in the station as a “high-value drug target.”
Police seized 10 knot-tied bags and 20 plastic sachets of suspected shabu with a combined weight of 1.1 kilograms and valued at P7,561,600.
Cops also seized the buy-bust money amounting to P48,000, a weighing scale and drug paraphernalia.
Earlier in that day, operatives from the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit in Western Visayas also seized P13.7 million worth of suspected shabu in the city’s Barangay Lantad, which resulted in the arrest of 30-year-old Angie and 25-year-old Angielyn Dumdumaya.
Following the latest high-value confiscation, Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office believed that the illegal drugs they seized are possibly meant for Bacolod City’s MassKara Festival in October./DGB, WDJ
