Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson yesterday morning called on local government units (LGUs) in the province to ensure the safety of commuters, especially when the milling season has started.
“We will be noticing big trucks on our highways,” Lacson said.
He urged all LGUs in the province to keep watch, especially the trucks that park beside the roads.
They should have an early warning device installed so vehicles can see them and warn them that they are parked, he pointed out.
“It’s a concerted effort of all LGUs as far as traffic is concerned,” he said.
Lacson calls for commuter safety also came in time with the opening of classes.
