An 18-year-old woman, who had earlier been tagged as missing, was found dead over the weekend at the 3rd floor of an old cinema building along Araneta street in Bacolod City’s Barangay 14.
Police have requested not to identify the woman, although they confirmed that she was a resident of the city.
Police Major Ramel Sarona, Police Station 1 commander, said based on a statement given by the family, the victim went out on Friday morning, August 19, and told them that she will be processing her scholarship to a private college in the city.
However, as she failed to return home by night, the family reported the woman as missing.
On Saturday, August 20, the victim was found lifeless on the 3rd floor of the old Cineplex Building.
Found beside her was a cutter and the police believe she committed suicide, pointing out the victim slit her wrist and bled herself to death.
Sarona also said that she has problems related to her scholarship.
The victim’s mother even tried to help her previously by offering to accompany her to college, however, they later found that the victim had failed to take the entrance exam.
He also added that the victim’s remains would undergo autopsy to make sure that there is no foul play in the incident./DGB, WDJ
