Negros Occidental Vice Governor Jeffrey  Ferrer reiterated that he will protect President Ferdinand “Bong-Bong” Marcos, Jr. (BBM) insofar as to the issue with regards to the appointment of Sugar Regulatory Administration (SRA) acting board member Aurelio Gerardo Valderrama.

“As a loyal supporter, leader, friend, a family, and the President’s personal adviser, I will protect him especially in choosing the right leader for the sugar industry who are truly deserving of the President’s appointment,” Ferrer said.

The vice governor pointed out the acting SRA board member was known as a “hardcore” pink supporter and has said unfavorable remarks against the President during campaign period.

Ferrer pointed out even the BBM supporters were surprised how come he applied for the position and did show delicadeza not to do so.

He said, “I am here to Protect BBM and the BBM supporters in Negros whose sentiment is likewise paramount on this matter.”

He added that if Valderrama still holds even an inch of delicadeza, it would be better for him to resign from his post.

Ferrer pointed out a good and healthy working relationship with the President is crucial not just based on the qualification and experience that he has as a sugar planter.

He said he will never forget Valderrama’s foul words against him citing his text message that reached him and against the President during the campaign period.

“His text message will speak for itself and there is no amount of denial that can expunge it. I have a copy of his text message, which is sound proof that he and his group have said nasty words against me. Admittedly, it has provoked me,” Ferrer said.

He asked Valderrama that if he has the time now, he should be gentleman enough to step down from the post for the sake of delicadeza.

“You don’t deserve to be in that position. Show some respect to the President and to yourself,” he added.

In response to Ferrer’s statements, Valderrama sent a text message stating that he was also surprised because he was a supporter of Leni Robredo.

He also said it would do him a favor if Ferrer and his group are trying to revoke his appointment, as he didn’t ask for the position in the first place.

“I call it tour of duty for the industry, so let’s see,” Valderrama added./DGB, WDJ
