The Negros Occidental provincial government led by Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson and Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer welcomed visitors from the provincial government of Romblon at the Provincial Capitol on Monday, June 20.
The group, led by Governor Jose Riano, Vice Governor-elect Armando Gutierrez, Rep. Eleandro Jesus Madrona, and Romblon provincial administrator Atty. Lizette Mortel, is in the province for a benchmarking and exposure trip to various projects and programs of the provincial government of Negros Occidental, particularly on hospital operations and economic enterprise.
Lacson said that he hopes to effectively share the best practices of Negros Occidental that helped the province cope with the demands of good governance, particularly in time of crisis.
“I hope this will be a start of a lasting friendly relations between Romblon and Negros Occidental as we seek to reopen our provinces to investors and tourists,” he added.
Negros Occidental provincial administrator Atty. Rayfrando Diaz, provincial legal officer Atty. Alberto Nellas, Jr., and other capitol department and office heads also welcomed the Romblon delegation.
The group also visited the Negros Residences, Teresita Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City, and Mambukal Resort./WDJ
