BCPO seizes P5.4-M shabu in March

The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) has confiscated almost P5.4 million in illegal drugs in various anti-illegal drug operations last month.

Data released by the BCPO showed that they have conducted a total of 58 operations targeting drug personalities in March of 2022.

A total of 793.53 grams of illegal drugs were seized and the BCPO arrested a total of 70 drug suspects, four of whom were listed as “high value drug targets.”

The BCPO filed a total of 88 illegal drugs charges last month against the drug suspects.

Aside from their accomplishments against illegal drugs, the BCPO also arrested 15 “most wanted persons” and 46 “other wanted persons” with various criminal charges.

On the campaign against loose firearms, the BCPO arrested two individuals, both of whom were caught carrying homemade firearms, and are now subsequently facing illegal possession of firearm charges.

At least one explosive and nine homemade firearms were surrendered to police in March, four of which were deposited by their gun owners while they processed the renewal of their firearms license.

In the campaign against illegal gambling, the BCPO arrested 50 individuals.

Ten of the illegal gambling suspects were noted to have violated Presidential Decree No. 1602 which prescribes stiffer penalties on illegal gambling.

Three others violated Presidential Decree No. 449 or the Cockfighting Law of 1974.

A total of 13 charges related to illegal gambling were also filed by the BCPO last month./DGB, WDJ
