The Bacolod City National High School (BCNHS) team was named champion in the Juniors and Seniors categories of the Negros Softball Qualifying Tournament held in Silay City, Negros Occidental from March 21 to 24.
The Education and Training Center School (ETCS) team also emerged champion in the Majors category of the said sports event.
Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson led the awarding of the winners and lauded the active participation of the different softball teams from all over the province.
The softball qualifying served as a venue to identify the best players who will represent the Negros Occidental team to the Little League National Finals scheduled on May 15 to 30, 2022.
It is the first major softball tournament sponsored by the provincial government, after the two-year pandemic.
It is also in line with the Abanse Negrense Sports Grassroots Program of the province initiated by the Provincial Sports Office led by Executive Assistant to the Governor and Provincial Sports Coordinator, Tony Agustin./WDJ
