Recent data from Department of Health Region VI (DOH-6) classified Bacolod City under risk classification alert “level 1” after COVID-19 cases declined over the past weeks.
At least six local government units (LGUs) in Western Visayas, including Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras, Iloilo province, and Negros Occidental were classified under alert level 2.
Out of the eight LGUs in Region 6, Bacolod was classified to have the lowest risk classification due to the sharp decrease of COVID-19 cases.
Iloilo City, meanwhile, remained under Alert Level 3.
The new risk classification analysis is based on all new cases reported and verified by LGUs.
Bacolod’s average daily attack rate (ADAR), on the other hand, shifted from a high of 66.19 to 3.64.
Data also showed the huge difference of COVID-19 cases between January 21 to February 3 and February 4 to 17.
The average COVID cases for January 21 to Feb. 3 period were recorded at 1,605, followed by a staggering decrease to 301 from February 4 to 17.
This showed a case difference of 81 percent, or 1, 304 cases between dates.
Healthcare capacity utilization rate of the city has also dropped to a low of 18.29 percent, resulting from low admission rate of severe COVID-19 cases./WDJ
