Following its successful launching in Metro Manila last month, the “Resbakuna sa Botika” is now available at the Mercury Drug Store inside the Ayala Malls Capitol Central in Bacolod City.
The launching was held yesterday afternoon with COVID-19 Chief Implementer and vaccine czar Secretary Carlito Galvez, Department of Health (DOH) Secretary Francisco Duque and COVID-19 Deputy Chief Implementer and testing czar Secretary Vivencio Dizon in attendance.
Also in attendance were Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia and Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson.
In a short press conference held after the launching, Duque said that they will open more “Resbakuna sa Botika” in pharmacies located in Bacolod City and Negros Occidental in the coming days.
Initially, the vaccinations will be for booster shots.
Currently, Duque explained that pharmacists have to undergo one week training before they can begin inoculating individuals.
Dizon, meanwhile, pointed out that the program aims to further simplify and make it accessible for the public to get the vaccine.
Dr. Chris Sorongon, deputy for medical of the Bacolod City Emergency Operations Center, meanwhile, said the program will be a big boost not just to the city’s vaccination program but to the province as well.
He also said the city government will try their best to make the “Resbakuna sa Botika” available to other drug stores and pharmacies in the city.
The vaccines provided at the said program are also free of charge, since they are procured by the national government./DGB, WDJ
