A Muslim community leader was shot dead by an unidentified gunman early Tuesday evening at the parking lot of the Victorias City Hall along Jover Street in the city’s Barangay 4.

Police identified the fatality as 35-year-old Iksan Umpar, a resident of Toreno Heights Subdivision in the city’s Barangay 13.
Victorias City police chief, Police Lt. Colonel Joseph Fajardo, Jr., said the victim and his wife had just exited the Victorias City Commercial Complex.
As the couple boarded the vehicle, the unidentified gunman approached Umpar in the driver’s side of the vehicle and shot him multiple times on the body.
The gunman immediately fled the scene while concerned bystanders rushed Umpar to the Victorias City Emergency Clinic where he was declared dead-on-arrival by the attending physician.
