San Carlos City gov’t distributes financial aid to ‘Odette’ victims

The City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) of the San Carlos City government in Negros Occidental facilitated the continued distribution of financial assistance to victims of super typhoon “Odette” yesterday.

A total of 225 families in Barangay V received P1,000 to a maximum of P5,000 per household for their partially or totally damaged houses during a distribution at the Barangay 4 covered court.

CSWDO officer Cynthia Mirande said the Department of Social Welfare and Development budgeted around P9.6 million for said funds for San Carlos City alone. Simultaneous releases of financial assistance were also held at barangays Bagonbon and Prosperidad covered courts where 324 families received the same amount.

Previous barangay-beneficiaries include those of barangays Rizal and Buluangan who received their cash aids last January 28 while barangays 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, and San Juan received their share last January 29./WDJ
