COVID-19 isolation facility inaugurated in Cadiz

The provincial government of Negros Occidental led the inauguration of the COVID-19 Isolation Facility in the provincial government-run Cadiz District Hospital on Friday, January 28.

The 100-bed facility will cater to COVID-positive patients, particularly those with severe cases.

The activity, which was led by Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson, started with the blessing and inauguration of the building, followed by a short program attended by Board Member Samson Mirhan; provincial administrator, Atty. Rayfrando Diaz; Hospital Operations Department Head, Dr. Girlie Pinongan; Dr. Josephine Pahamtang of Cadiz District Hospital; Cadiz City councilor Vincent Escalante; and hospital staff.

Lacson said Negros Occidental cannot afford to be complacent, and the operation of the isolation facility is proof of the provincial government’s continued vigilance and commitment to protect and provide for the needs of the Negrenses.

Meanwhile, a total of 124 COVID-19 patients are currently admitted at the main building of the hospital and some of them will be transferred to the isolation facility./WDJ
