Around 93 police personnel in Western Visayas have tested positive for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) based on a report released on Sunday, January 30, by the Philippine National Police (PNP) Health Service.

Based on the data, 11 of the police officers are assigned at the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) while two are from the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO).
Other police units include the Antique PPO with 18 COVID-positive cops, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 6 (RMFB-6) and Police Regional Office 6 headquarters with 10 each, Aklan PPO with eight, Iloilo City Police Office and Iloilo PPO with seven each, and the Capiz and Guimaras PPOs with three each.
Forty one of the 93 personnel are symptomatic while 52 are asymptomatic.
The PNP Health Service also reported four new cases coming from NOCPPO, IPPO, AKPPO, and RMFB-6.
Meanwhile, the PNP yesterday recorded 132 new COVID-19 cases among its personnel, driving up the total tally of coronavirus infections to 48,193.
Of this number, 1,607 cases are active.
Recoveries, meanwhile, went up to 46,460 after 122 cases got well. The death toll on the other hand remained at 126.
The PNP also said that as of 12:01 a.m. yesterday, 96.97% or 218,371 of its total active personnel of 225,202 have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
Those who are partially vaccinated number 5,872 or 2.61% of the PNP active personnel.
Meanwhile, only 0.42% or 959 personnel remain unvaccinated against COVID-19, with 455 or 0.20% having valid reasons for not being inoculated. (With a report from GMA News)/DGB, WDJ
