Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson may return to work in the next couple of days, but will adopt a “work from home arrangement” instead after testing positive for COVID-19 over the weekend.
Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said the governor is feeling well and has been asking as to when he could return to work.
Based on the Department of Health guidelines, isolation of COVID-19 positive with mild symptoms could be shortened to five days.
Diaz pointed out since Lacson only exhibited mild symptoms which began on Wednesday last week, his five-day isolation period had already ended yesterday.
He said Lacson may do his tasks at home, although they would like to make sure that his immune system is well enough.
Meanwhile, the Provincial Capitol building has been placed on lockdown until January 28 in order to break the spread of COVID-19 among its employees.
A total of 22 capitol employees have already tested positive for COVID-19./DGB, WDJ
