Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson’s three-day “health break” will be extended after he tested positive for COVID-19 over the weekend.
Provincial administrator, Atty. Rayfrando Diaz, said Lacson’s isolation period has been extended to 10 days.
Diaz said Lacson is feeling okay aside from the sore throat he experienced earlier last week while attending official functions in the southern part of the province.
The provincial administrator added he was not infectious during his attendance in southern Negros, and there is no need to test those who were with him.
Lacson had previously undergone rapid antigen test after he returned to Bacolod City, and he initially tested “non-reactive” at the time.
The governor was supposed to only take a three-day isolation period after being advised by doctors./DGB, WDJ
