The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) is recruiting 200 new policemen this year.
Those interested may apply online via the Philippine National Police’s (PNP) Registration Application System, according to Police Colonel Luther Lugo, chief of Regional Recruitment and Selection Unit (RRSU).
“Applicants can submit their personal data sheets through online. And we are now strictly imposing no endorsement from any government agency or “no padreno” system. We need qualified applicants with dedication,” Lugo said.
This is the first recruitment for the PNP’s regular force this year.
The following are the minimum qualifications an applicant must meet:
- must be a citizen of the Philippines
- of good moral character
- height: at least five feet for female and 5 feet and 2 inches for male
- a graduate of a baccalaureate degree with corresponding eligibility
- between 21 to 30 years old
- must not have been dishonorably discharged from military employment or dismissed for a cause from any civilian position in the government
- must not been convicted by final judgment of an offense / crime involving moral turpitude
- must pass the psychiatric / psychological, drug and physical tests
Documents required for submission are the following:
- Philippine Statistics Authority-certified birth certificate
- transcript of records and diploma (duly authenticated by the school registrar)
- certificate of eligibility (duly authenticated by the issuing office)
- photocopy of two valid identification cards
“Binabaan natin ang height limit for at least five feet compare sa mga previous years na five and two inches. Para may chance naman ang iba,” Lugo said.
He also said that of the 200 target recruits, 30 percent should be female.
The basic salary of a Police Officer 1 is now P29,668 a month./WDJ
