The family of the two slain alleged robbery group members is no longer interested in deepening the ongoing probe over their abduction and eventual murders last Saturday, January 8.
In an interview over Aksyon Radyo-Bacolod, Murcia deputy police chief, Police Lt. Frankie Paciente, said the family of Jhundele and Lionel Rafols is convinced that the authorities were not behind the abduction and killings of the two.
Paciente said the Rafols family was able to talk with the witnesses and it was proven that the suspects in the abduction were not police-like, and are described as “long-haired” individuals.
The family is also not interested in pressing charges.
At present, police are looking at a drug deal gone wrong as the motive behind the abduction and murders.
Last Friday, January 7, the Rafols cousins, along with two other victims identified as 30-year-old Arnold “Aki” Cuadra and 30-year-old Rene Boy “Kugan” Dasillo, were abducted in their rented house at Villa Homes Subdivision in Bacolod City’s Barangay Vista Alegre.
Cuadra is the leader of the notorious Aki-Cuadra crime gang and has four existing warrants of arrest stemming from robbery and illegal drugs.
The Rafols were found dead at a sugarcane field in Barangay Blumentritt, Murcia town.
Cuadra was later found dead at a river in Bacolod City’s Barangay Villamonte, while Dasillo’s remains were found in Barangay Atipuluhan in Bago City.
All four victims were riddled with gunshot wounds./DGB, WDJ
