Fast craft trips from Bacolod City to Iloilo City and vice versa are temporarily suspended again after both local government units decided to tighten their border controls due to the spike in coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases.

Weesam Express operator Frank Carbon said they suspended their trips to show their cooperation to the decisions made by Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia and Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas.

Leonardia and Treñas released their respective executive orders requiring a negative RT-PCR test result prior to travel between both cities.

Trips will likely remain suspended until January 15, and Carbon stated they are hoping for a lower alert level in both provinces.

Suspension of trips had been made several times by the fast craft operators since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020./DGB, WDJ
