Fifty retirees received tokens and plaques from the city government during the program hosted by the Human Resources Management Services Office (HRMSO).

HRMSO head Erman Aguirre said the tribute is an annual event to recognize the valuable service of its retired employees.

City Administrator Atty. Edward Joseph Cuansing, for his part, lauded the employees’ dedication to their work and contribution to make Bacolod one of the best cities in the Philippines.

“You deserve this recognition. Thank you for the sacrifices, hard work, and dedication, contribution to public service.

“There had been many times that you sacrificed your time for your family, and I thank you for it. Your dedication will lead a shining example for all of us. I wish you all a happy retirement,” Cuansing added.

Mayor Evelio Leonardia, who also extended the city government’s gratitude to the retirees, informed them that their plan to create a commemorative wall for retirees at the NGC grounds is almost set in place.

“I want this to happen. This is to honor you for spending many productive years of your lives serving the city,” he said.

Among the 50 retirees, Edgar Barrerra from the City Assessor’s Office, Jullen Patriarca from the City Budget Office and Nelson Salvilla from the City General Services Office served the longest at 45 years./WDJ
