The Philippine Army sent 14 truckloads of relief goods to Central Visayas last December 30, 2021 through BRP Tarlac of the Philippine Navy.

Task Group Cebu of 302nd Infantry Brigade, 3rd Infantry (Spearhead) Division (3ID) tasked 14th Civil Military Operation Battalion, 9th Marine Battalion Landing Team, and 82nd Infantry Battalion to receive and haul said shipment upon its arrival.
The shipment consists of bottled water, food items, canned goods, foams, mattresses, portable water purifier packs, electric generator, and other essential supplies. These relief goods were donated by “Landers Superstore” and distributed immediately to affected areas in Central Visayas on January 1 and 2, 2022.
Moreover, the Army was able to consolidate essential supplies from corporate and individual donors with a total of P12 million as of date. All of these consolidated donations will be distributed to areas severely affected by Typhoon “Odette” like in Bohol and Negros Islands.
In his statement, 3ID commander Major General Benedict Arevalo said, “This is the genuine acts of what we call bayanihan. We are truly grateful to all the donations made by Landers Superstore and other companies and private individuals to areas that were devastated by the recent calamity.”
“Rest assured that all of these donations will be promptly delivered to areas severely affected by the typhoon,” Arevalo added.
Army units—together with national government agencies, local government units and private sector partners—are working ‘round the clock to provide relief and rehabilitation assistance to areas devastated by “Odette.”/WDJ
