A total of 10,450 family food packs amounting to P5.7 million were already provided by the Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office VI (DSWD-6) to Typhoon “Odette”-hit towns in Negros Occidental.

DSWD Secretary Rolando Joselito Bautista has confirmed this during the Monday ceremonial turnover activity in Kabankalan City, one of the hardest-hit areas in the region during the onslaught of “Odette.”
President Rodrigo Duterte and Bautista led the ceremonial distribution of 1,500 family food packs to some typhoon victims in the city.
Aside from Kabankalan, the DSWD likewise provided food packs in the following areas:
- Bago City – 2,000
- Candoni – 400
- Ilog – 3,100
- Sipalay – 1,400
- Hinobaan – 300
- Himamaylan – 300
- Cauayan – 900
- San Enrique – 550.
DSWD-6 has already provided a total of 16,050 family food packs all over the region amounting to P8.6 million./WDJ
