Damage to the chicken industry is currently pegged at P275,086,000.

The losses affected not only the chickens but also their housing facilities and the feeds which were destroyed due to the floods.

The most heavily damaged is the province’s broiler industry or 45-day-old chickens.

Decena noted that the poultry farm of the Provincial Livestock Breeding Center and Dairy Farms in Barangay La Granja, La Carlota City was heavily damaged.

The damages at the farm was estimated at P10 million.

Decena also expressed sympathy to the local raisers due to the losses they have incurred.
