Negros Occidental’s provincial administrator, Atty. Rayfrando Diaz, confirmed yesterday that there are no more COVID-19 patients confined at the three provincial government-run quarantine facilities in the province as new COVID-19 cases continue to decline.
According to Diaz, the provincial healing centers in E.B. Magalona town and the cities of Cadiz and Silay now have zero COVID-19 patients admitted.
He said only a few authorized persons outside of residence (APORs) are confined in the said facilities and all of them have chosen to voluntarily place themselves on quarantine following their arrival in the province.
Diaz also noted that at the Cadiz City District Hospital, which was designated as the only COVID-19 hospital in the province, a drop in the number of COVID-related patients was recorded wherein only 13 are positive for the virus. Seven others are presently being suspected of having COVID-19 and are still awaiting their swab results.
“It’s looking good for everyone and I hope nga mag-continue ang pag-maintain sang health protocols,” Diaz added.
As of December 12, 2021, Negros Occidental only has 296 active COVID-19 cases from the 34,795 total confirmed cases. The province also recorded a total of 32,783 recoveries and 1,715 deaths./DGB, WDJ
