The city government of San Carlos in Negros Occidental joined the whole nation in celebration of the 158th birth anniversary of Andres Bonifacio yesterday, at the Andres Bonifacio Square of the city’s public plaza.
The activity facilitated by the faculty members and staff of Andres Bonifacio Elementary School (ABES) and Department of Education (DepEd) District IV is a way of paying tribute to Bonifacio’s heroism as “Father of the Philippine Revolution” during the Spanish regime.
City officials led by Mayor Renato Gustilo together with the local department heads, veterans, members of the San Carlos City Police Station, Armed Forces of the Philippines, Bureau of Fire Protection, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, DepEd officials and staff, Boy Scouts of the Philippines, District School Administrators, and ABES faculty and staff offered flowers at the foot of the statue of the Philippine hero./WDJ
