Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson announced yesterday that the Cadiz District Hospital will now become the only COVID-19 treatment facility in Negros Occidental.
According to Lacson, the number of COVID-19 cases in the province had already significantly gone down.
Because of this, the Valeriano M. Gatuslao Hospital in Himamaylan City and Valladolid District Hospital in the town of Valladolid can now resume accepting non-COVID patients.
“But of course at any time, God forbid, a new surge may happen and we have to reopen our hospitals for COVID,” Lacson said.
As of Sunday, November 28, the number of active cases in Negros Occidental has already gone down to 487.
Total cases of COVID-19 in the province since March of last year now stood at 34,625 with 32,448 recoveries, and 1,689 fatalities./DGB, WDJ
