Park Inn by Radisson Bacolod welcomes holiday season with its newly-opened art gallery and tree lighting ceremony

The 150-key Park Inn by Radisson Bacolod is located within the SM City Bacolod mall complex.

Park Inn by Radisson Bacolod, the new and vibrant upper midscale hotel in the City of Smiles, formalized its opening through a festive welcome of the holiday season.

The day’s event began with a press conference with the local media, officially marking its presence in Bacolod City.

“The opening of Park Inn by Radisson Bacolod creates another milestone in SMHCC’s history, as it offers Bacolodnons the first internationally-branded hotel in the City of Smiles. As such, SMHCC solidifies its pursuit to further strengthen its brand portfolio and take hospitality to a notch higher,” said Ms. Peggy E. Angeles, Executive Vice President of SM Hotels and Conventions Corp.

The press conference was capped with a sumptuous merienda spread featuring local Ilonggo delicacies.

Media guests were, later on, ushered to Art Cove, Park Inn by Radisson Bacolod’s mini art gallery to inaugurate its first-ever exhibition. The exhibit is a back-to-back feature of the works of Ms. Christina Bautista with the title “Images of Negros” and Ms. Joan Horidez’s “Tale of Marapara.”

“Art Cove is a reflection of the combined love for the arts shared by the locals of this region and by the SM Group. Through Art Cove, we wish to help the province cultivate and nurture more talents by serving as an avenue to showcase Negrosnanon art to travelers and amplify the art tourism in the province,” said Sherwin Lucas, General Manager of Park Inn by Radisson Bacolod.

After the inaugural exhibit program, guests were led to the Marapara Plaza (Pool Deck) located at the second level of the hotel to unveil the marker of the biggest mural in Negros followed by the Christmas launch program. A string ensemble welcomed the guests with classical tunes as they settled in for the evening festivities. Mayor Bing Leonardia and city administrator, Atty. Edward Cuansing, graced the occasion.

The Christmas launch featured musical performances from the De La Salle chorale Bacolod and invited singer/host and commercial model Vien King.

To further keep the spirit of Christmas alive and to strengthen the hotel’s corporate social responsibility program, Park Inn by Radisson Bacolod partnered with Kalipay Negrense Bacolod. Percentage of the hotel’s holiday hampers sales will be given to the foundation to support the basic needs of recovered treasures, a home for disadvantaged children.
