In an announcement released by the city government of Kabankalan City, they confirmed that Francisca Susano has died at the age of 124.

The city government further stated that they still don’t have any information as to what Susano’s cause of death was.

A resident of the city’s Barangay Oringao, Susano was born on September 11, 1897 when the country was still under Spanish occupation.

She survived both World Wars I and II, as well as the Spanish flu pandemic of 1918 and the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

At present, the Guiness Book of World Records is still validating Susano’s declaration as the “oldest person in the world.”/DGB, WDJ
