Negros Occidental’s provincial administrator, Atty. Rayfrando Diaz, revealed over the weekend that the Mambukal Resort in Murcia town will be reopened to local tourists starting December 1.
According to Diaz, tourists who want to stay in the resort may book their reservations at the resort’s office located at the Capitol Park and Lagoon in Bacolod City.
Online bookings are also being studied in order to make it easier for tourists to make their reservations.
Diaz said they will only accommodate fully-vaccinated tourists to ensure the safety of the visitors and resort staff.
Visitors are also reminded to follow health protocols upon entry in the resort.
The Mambukal Resort was closed to the public last year when coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) started to spread nationwide.
The resort was then converted into a quarantine facility first housing arriving locally stranded individuals and returning overseas Filipino workers.
It would then later serve employees of the provincial government who are either asymptomatic or those exhibiting only minor symptoms of COVID-19./DGB, WDJ
