300 displaced Negrense workers benefit from TUPAD program

A total of 300 displaced Negrense workers from La Carlota City and Cauayan town in Negros Occidental received their TUPAD or Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) payouts in a distribution held at Villa Caridad Covered Court in Barangay 3 Poblacion, La Carlota City on Wednesday.

Each beneficiary received P5,925.00 equivalent to 15 days work at P395.00/day.

The TUPAD Program fund for these local government units (LGU) was sourced from the Legislative fund of Sen. Migz Zubiri in the amount of P2 million for the province of Negros occidental coursed through Department of Labor and Employment, allocated to Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer, implemented by the provincial government under the leadership of Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson, thru the Provincial Public Employment Service Office (PESO) and coordinated with the La Carlota City Mayor’s Office and LGU PESO.

Lacson led the distribution and also present in the activity were La Carlota City Mayor Dr. Rex Jalando-on and Vice Mayor Junjun Baga, other local officials, and Provincial PESO Manager Dr. Sharon A. Juance, among others./WDJ
