A commercial sex worker was declared dead on the spot after she was gunned down by motorcycle-riding gunmen outside the Bredco Port, part of Purok Lampirong in Bacolod City’s Barangay 2, yesterday afternoon.

Police identified the fatality as Renalyn “Mayang” Maming, aged between 23 to 24 years old, and a native of La Castellana town in Negros Occidental.
Police Lt. Jonito Pastrana, deputy commander of Police Station 2, said Maming was walking along the road leading to the Bredco Port when she was suddenly gunned down by motorcycle-riding suspects.
The suspects immediately fled south after the shooting, while Maming was instantly killed after sustaining one gunshot wound above her left eyebrow.
Police recovered one empty .45 caliber cartridge at the crime scene.
Based on the victim’s background, Pastrana said Maming does not have any relatives or a place to live in Bacolod City.
Pastrana said Maming’s customers are usually the truck drivers operating at the city’s port area.
They have also received information that the victim may have also allegedly been involved in theft incidents victimizing truck drivers at the Bredco Port, wherein she would allegedly steal the driver’s wallets, mobile phones, and identification cards.
He pointed out they even have several blotters at the station wherein Maming was believed to have been involved.
Pastrana further added that three days prior to the shooting, the truck drivers told them that two men were looking for Maming.
Police are still investigating the incident, although police now believe that the motive over the shooting was due to a probable grudge by one of Maming’s victims./DGB, WDJ
