Team Phikoma Cadiz of Dexter Ramas Chavez made their presence felt with medal hauls in two separate virtual taekwondo tournaments held recently.
The Cadiz City, Negros Occidental-based squad bagged two gold, two silver and three bronze medals in the 2021 SMART/MVP Sports Foundation National Age Group Online Taekwondo Championships last October 24.
Winning the gold medals were Ana Rose Carido in the cadet blackbelt lightweight and Rhiane Wyeth Llaguno in the cadet blackbelt featherweight categories.
Ending up with silver medals were Jeincis Heward Carian in the cadet blackbelt finweight and Lyr Sendico in the cadet blackbelt flyweight categories.
Jerea Eliza Peñas in cadet blackbelt middleweight, Erich-Eunin Geli in cadet blackbelt flyweight and Jovymar Gane in cadet blackbelt featherweight ended up with bronze medals.
The Team Phikoma also participated in the 2021 SMART/MVP Sports Foundation Online Regional Speed Kicking Championships last October 17 with four gold, three silver and one bronze medals.
Carido and Sendico were among the four gold medal winners along with Dexie Leen Chavez and Pia Mariz Openio.
Capturing silvers were Carian, Ayesa Manangan and John Anthony Fernandez, while the lone bronze medal winner was Yohance Manangan.
The said taekwondo events were organized by Smart and Manuel V Pangilinan Sports Foundation and sanctioned by the Philippine Taekwondo Association./ASC, WDJ
