P3.4-M ‘shabu’ seized in San Carlos City

Twenty five big sachets of suspected shabu weighing 500 grams and valued at around P3.4 million were seized in a buy-bust operation in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental yesterday afternoon.

Joint elements of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region 6 (PDEA-6) and San Carlos City Police Station arrested 39-year-old Emil Mariano, a resident of the city’s Burgos Street, Barangay 6.

Authorities tagged Mariano as a high-value individual.

Also recovered from the suspect were P10,000 in buy-bust money and a motorcycle.

Mariano is currently detained in the lockup cell of the San Carlos City Police Station.

He faces charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./WDJ
