Negros Occidental Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz yesterday said they are closely monitoring travelers entering the province who may present fake travel documents, especially fake RT-PCR test results or fake vaccination cards.
According to Diaz, he noted the S-PaSS system as very effective in countering the threat of travelers who may present fake documents, since travelers are required to present them online first.
He said they have already intercepted a number of travelers who have presented falsified documents online and they immediately denied their entry to the province.
“Damo attempts,” Diaz said.
He explained that by denying their application via the S-PaSS system, the travelers would not be able to board the plane or ship bound for the province.
“Sa application pa lang sang S-PaSS we are able to screen the travelers who may show false documentation,” he added.
Earlier this week, Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) spokesperson, Police Lt. Colonel Arnel Solis, warned travelers entering Western Visayas not to present fake RT-PCR test results as they will face criminal charges if they are intercepted at any of the region’s main entry points.
Solis said travelers must check with the local government unit of their destination with regards to the entry requirements.
Any traveler caught using fake RT-PCR test results can be charged with violation of Republic Act 11332, or the Law on Reporting of Communicable Diseases./DGB, WDJ
