Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson said the provincial government has purchased six new specialized ambulances which will be assigned under the province’s 911 Emergency and Quick Response Hotline.
During the turnover of the new vehicles yesterday morning, Lacson said the six ambulances will be stationed to between four and five areas in the province such as the cities of Cadiz, Silay, La Carlota, and Kabankalan, and the town of Valladolid.
The new ambulances can be used for COVID or non-COVID related incidents, although Lacson noted the ambulances are specifically designed to handle severe COVID-19 patients as if they are negative pressure ambulances.
When asked if the new ambulances were “expensive,” the governor replied they won’t consider the price anymore especially if the equipment is meant to save lives./DGB, WDJ
