The provincial government of Negros Occidental is currently waiting for the go-ahead from the Department of Health for them to start inoculating minors aged 12 to 17 years old against coronavirus disease 2019, or COVID-19.

Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said they are still waiting for the go signal although preparations are now being made.

Diaz said COVID-19 vaccine registration for minors is now ongoing.

Meanwhile, Diaz said vaccination in the province for ages 18 and above continues, adding the provincial government has started receiving more and more doses of vaccines from the national government.

Among the jabs they received this week were Sinovac, Moderna, Pfizer-BioNTech, and AstraZeneca.

“I hope ang aton mga kautoran will take this opportunity to have themselves vaccinated, especially subong nga kadamo na ta options,” the provincial administrator said.

He further added vaccine acceptance is no longer a problem in Negros Occidental as there are no leftovers in the doses they are sending out./DGB, WDJ
