A nine-year-old boy was declared dead-on-the-spot after he was run over by a white van in front of a popular shopping mall along Araneta Street in Bacolod City’s Barangay Singcang-Airport last Friday night.

Authorities identified the fatality as Kian Aguda, a resident of Purok Maghili-ugyon in the city’s Barangay 35.

Based on the initial investigation carried out by traffic investigator, Police Staff Sgt. Roldan Villa, Aguda was crossing the pedestrian lane when he was hit by a van with plate no. NV 350.

The van was reported to be heading north towards the city’s downtown area.

However, instead of helping the victim, the driver of the van immediately sped away.
Police are already looking for the white van and its driver, who could face charges for reckless imprudence resulting to homicide./DGB, WDJ
