Police arrested the No. 1 most wanted person of La Carlota City, Negros Occidental at his residence at around 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 16.
La Carlota City police identified the suspect as 31-year-old Diony Mendoza, a resident of Cristobal St., Villa Caridad Subdivision in the city’s Barangay 3 Poblacio.
Joint operatives of the La Carlota City Police Station, 2nd Negros Occidental Provincial Mobile Force Company, Police Intelligence Unit-Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office, Anti-Kidnapping Group Visayas Field Unit, Regional Intelligence Unit 6, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG)-Negros Occidental, and CIDG-Bacolod City arrested Mendoza through the strength of an arrest warrant for the crime of rape with criminal case number 6679 issued by Judge Cyclamen Jison Fernandez of the Regional Trial Court – Branch 63 in La Carlota City, dated October 8, 2021.
Police said the accused was responsible for raping a 23 year-old woman sometime in July 2021.
The suspect was detained at the La Carlota City Police Station.
No bail was recommended for his temporary liberty./WDJ
